BACKSTORY
Even before he was brought into this world, Rylan's complicated life, particularly his early years, was already cast in stone. Born from the scandalous affair between a noblewoman and a commoner, Rylan was the 7th and the youngest child of Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart, the 18th Duchess of Alba, and Alfonso Aldana Carabantes, the Duchess' third consort, a commoner working as a civil servant. His mother was still married to her second husband, Jesús Aguirre, at the time of his birth. Due to this fact, he was raised and recognized as the son of Cayetana and Jesús Aguirre until the latter died in 2001. His mother ceded the title of the countship to him—21st Count of Miranda del Castañar, Grandee of Spain.Until Cayetana and Alfonso's relationship became public, no one knew the truth about Rylan's birth and parentage. The Duchess and the civil servant had been having an affair for a long time, and the fact that Alfonso was Aguirre's close friend and the couple's age difference only added fuel to the fire. There was never a day when young Rylan's name together with his "rebellious noble" mother's name did not appear in Spanish tabloids and international gossip magazines. The scandal also caused a schism between his mother and his six older siblings, who opposed their mother's marriage to a gold-digging man, arising in a public family feud through the media. The Duchess of Alba devised a solution by giving the inheritance to her children, abstaining from her wealth, and having Alfonso sign a pre-nuptial agreement, refusing to receive any of Cayetana's wealth. Rylan inherited a sizable portion of the property in Alba Estates and his mother's property in Ibiza, including a few rare artworks from Alba's art collection. In 2011, Cayetana and Alfonso wed in a private wedding ceremony; they were married until Cayetana died in 2014.As time passed, the scandal died down; Rylan's, until today, is trying to build a good relationship with his half-siblings and biological father and heal himself from the affection he never received from his family; which fortunately resulted in positive outcomes. He received his Bachelor's degree in performing arts from Nebrija University and pursued his Master's degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Acting at The Juilliard School in New York.Despite initially pursuing a career in acting in theatres— working for years in Broadway as an actor and director— Rylan eventually pursued a career in the fashion industry, working as a model on runways and in the mainstream throughout Europe. He rose to prominence in South Korea after attending a Gucci event, when his resemblance to popular actress Kim Jiwon and k-pop idol Kim Mingyu went viral. He landed several modelling gigs before making his acting debut in the Korean drama "Business Proposal" as a main cast member. He is currently based in South Korea to pursue modelling and mainstream acting opportunities. He was rumoured to be married to Vittoria Jalandoni, a Filipina theatre actress and singer, and they have a son.

THE HOUSE OF ALBA

The House of Alba de Tormes, commonly known as the House of Alba, is a prominent Spanish noble family that descended from the 12th-century nobility of post-conquest Toledo. The family's claim to Alba de Tormes dates from 1429 when Gutierre Álvarez de Toledo became Lord of Alba de Tormes while serving as Bishop of Palencia.
In 1472, García Álvarez de Toledo, 2nd Count of Alba de Tormes, was elevated to the title of Duke of Alba de Tormes by King Henry IV of Castile. In 1492, the 2nd Duke of Alba de Tormes signed the capitulation of the city of Granada.During the 16th century, Fernando Álvarez de Toledo, 3rd Duke of Alba, was given the title of governor-general of the Spanish Netherlands. The third duke's first cousin was Eleanor of Toledo, who married Cosimo I de Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany. Through her granddaughter Marie de Medici, Queen of France, she became the ancestor of many crowned heads and heirs apparent of Europe. In 1802, María Cayetana de Silva, 13th Duchess of Alba, died without any issue and her titles were inherited by a relative, Carlos Miguel Fitz-James Stuart, 14th Duke of Alba. Thus, the dukedom of Alba passed to the senior branch of the House of Fitz-James Stuart, which took over the patrimony of the House of Alba. From 1976 until 2014, the head of the House of Alba was Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart (born in 1951), the 18th Duchess of Alba. She was recognized as one of the richest women in Spain, and a socialite during her regime. She married three times and had seven children throughout her married life. Due to health complications, she died at age 62, leaving her third husband a widow. The current head of the House of Alba is Carlos Fitz-James Stuart y Martínez de Irujo (the firstborn of Cayentana with her first husband), the 19th Duke of Alba, who succeeded his mother, after her death in 2014.
